we are melting and eating tasty khmer food in siem reap, taking care of a few necessary tasks (cash, bug spray, extending our trip by three weeks…!!!) and prepping for an 8 hour bus ride to bangkok in the morning. holy crap, we are going to thailand.

phu quoc island

this break on phu quoc island is just what we needed - we are giving our feet a couple days to recover, soaking up the last bit of time in vietnam and laying out our plans for the next week or two. our hotel is low key and right on the water, and each time we go swimming we marvel at the fact that we are finally in the gulf of thailand, with a not-so-distant view of cambodia. tomorrow we are...

the journey south

yesterday was one of those days just eaten up by travel. we left cat ba island through halong bay, travelled back to hanoi for a quick dinner and then to the airport for our flight to ho chi minh city. due to mechanical issues, had to switch to a new plane and didn’t get to our hotel in saigon until about 1am. all in all, we were on the go for about 17 hours.
