we just arrived in Flores, a little east of Bali, and it’s lovely here. Labuan Bajo is a sleepy little dive town, and the island overall has a California-esque feel (times awesome). tomorrow we are diving in a couple amazing spots, one of which involves fighting some rough currents to lie on the ocean floor and watch manta rays swim overhead. we’re skippy with excitement :)

AMAZING news: two spots opened up to climb mt. kinabaulu on thursday!! we are catching a bus back to kota kinabalu tomorrow so we can get all our gear together on wednesday :) WOOHOO!

we’re laying low in sandakan right now, getting some much needed rest & eating on the harbor. tomorrow we’re going to the sepilok orangutan rehabilitation center to see a lot o monkeys (yay!!) so I’m pretty pumped about that. happy easter everyone! :)

yesterday was a travel day. we flew from KL to Kota Kinabalu, and today we are organizing a few bigger expeditions. timing is a bit tight because we have to book two days, one night for the mountain, two days, three nights for diving in Sipadan, and one day, one night to see the orangutans in Sepilok, and we’re on a tight schedule for Malaysia. *update: Kinabalu is completely booked until...
