this break on phu quoc island is just what we needed - we are giving our feet a couple days to recover, soaking up the last bit of time in vietnam and laying out our plans for the next week or two. our hotel is low key and right on the water, and each time we go swimming we marvel at the fact that we are finally in the gulf of thailand, with a not-so-distant view of cambodia.
tomorrow we are hopping on a boat to go snorkel in the reefs off the tiny islands surrounding the southern tip of this one, and doing a bit of fishing. the day after, we will be taking a hydrofoil and a bus over the border into cambodia for a few days in kep. our hotel is a quick walk to town there, so we can enjoy the local culture, and swim & snorkel both days before heading up to pnom penh.
